Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Lions Club of Kasaragod Vidyanagar(“the Club”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through our website and our members’ mobile application (together, the “Services”). The mobile app is intended for registered members of the Club.

Information we collect

We collect information that members and office bearers provide so the Club can run its directory, meetings, and activities:

• Member details — name, photograph, classification, phone number, email address, postal address, and year of joining.
• Family details— where a member chooses to add them: spouse and children’s names, photographs, dates of birth, and wedding anniversary, used for birthday and anniversary reminders.
• Authentication data — your mobile number is used to sign in by one-time password (OTP).
• Device tokens — push-notification identifiers so the app can send you reminders and announcements.
• Enquiries — details you submit through contact or assistance forms on the website.

How we use information

• To maintain the member directory and Club records.
• To authenticate members and keep their accounts secure.
• To share Club news, meeting schedules, events, and announcements.
• To send birthday and anniversary reminders to fellow members.
• To respond to enquiries and requests for assistance submitted to the Club.

How information is shared

Member contact and profile details are visible to other registered members within the app, which functions as a private Club directory. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. Private fields (such as phone, address, and date of birth) are not published on the public website. Information is disclosed outside the Club only where required by law.

Service providers

The Services run on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging). Google processes and stores this data on our behalf under its own security and privacy terms. We do not share your data with any other third-party services.

Data retention

We keep member information for as long as you remain a member of the Club and as needed for our records. On request, or when a member leaves, we will delete or anonymise personal information that we are not required to retain.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, or have your account removed. Members can update much of their own information in the app, or contact a Club administrator for help. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Children's information

The app is for adult members of the Club. Any information about a member’s children (such as a name and date of birth for birthday reminders) is added by the member at their own discretion and can be removed by them at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with its effective date.
